{"id":5440,"date":"2020-10-06T14:27:52","date_gmt":"2020-10-06T12:27:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.laciotat-shipyards.com\/?p=5440"},"modified":"2020-10-16T16:21:55","modified_gmt":"2020-10-16T14:21:55","slug":"death-of-mr-jean-dhuart-former-ceo-of-the-c-n-c","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.laciotat-shipyards.com\/en\/death-of-mr-jean-dhuart-former-ceo-of-the-c-n-c\/","title":{"rendered":"Death of Mr Jean d\u2019Huart, former CEO of the C.N.C."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Also known as \u201cBaron d\u2019Huart\u201d by the employees of the shipyards, Jean d\u2019Huart has just passed away.<\/p>\n<p>Related to the Terrin Family, renowned for having shaped the local shipbuilding industry, he served as CEO of the C.N.C. for 20 years from 1962 to 1982.<\/p>\n<p>Under his management, the yards experienced a \u201cGolden Age\u201d characterised by a considerable extension of their surface and the building of some of the most characteristic features that we know today, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laciotat-shipyards.com\/en\/equipment-and-services\/great-dry-dock\/\">great dry dock<\/a> (1968), the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laciotat-shipyards.com\/en\/equipment-and-services\/gantry-crane\/\">big gantry crane<\/a> (1977), The bid sheds A, B and C (1967-1977) or the \u201csahara\u201d platform in front of the Ile Verte (1977). In total, the \u201cBaron d\u2019Huart\u201d added more than 19ha to the surface of the shipyards entirely reclaimed from the sea, representing approximately 60 % of the total surface of today\u2019s yards.<\/p>\n<p>La Ciotat Shipyards pay tribute to the memory of this visionary builder.
